x3watch 4.7 does not do enough to protect browsers from Internet threats. This is accountability software that does not filter Web sites. It only emails an accountability partner with reports.

Key findings:
This is not a filter. It provides a report every two weeks to two e-mail addresses for accountability.We found an easy way to bypass the reporting.
X3Watch is a product that is a bit outside of the scope of these reviews.  We thought it would be helpful to include it in our reviews because it is both free and becoming increasingly well known. First, X3Watch is NOT a filter.  It is accountability software. That is software that sends a report to up to two other addresses you listed as accountability partners.

Setup was very simple.  But it was also very easy to deactivate.  It does show up on your report that you turned it off. That flip side of that is your report is only sent every two weeks (for the free version) or monthly.  We also found the software was fairly easy to bypass by anyone with a moderate understanding  of computer networks.

We commend them for offering this free product.  Yet, we believe it is only right for those adults who are already trustworthy.  Adults or teens who are tempted or struggle with porn addictions would not benefit from this product.

The free versions offers no tech support.  There is a paid version that allows more accountability partners and faster reporting, but it has the same problems mentioned above.

Spend a little money and purchase Bsafe (with tamper-proof reporting) or Safe Eyes (with its instant notification) if you need real accountability. Let your friend or spouse be the one with the password.
