All users of NetNanny 5.1 have been given an opportunity to upgrade to superior products. Read the review of NetNanny 5.5     We do not recommend NetNanny5.1 because of its poor filter effectiveness and below-average features.

Key findings:
Filtering was poor.Some objectionable sites triggered warning pop-up, then allowed us in anyway.Charges per tech support call
We found installation and setup to be easy.  However, Internet Filter effectiveness was poor.  NetNanny has no category control nor password override, IM and P2P protection failed and, worst off all, when we attempted to access inappropriate sites, NetNanny gave us a pop up warning.  We clicked “OK” on the warning and then we were allowed access.  This has happened under multiple browsers and we consider it to be a catastrophic failure.

Calls to support are $19.95 per incident.

We do not recommend this product.
